New Product Introduction Engineer 

Summary Description

The New Product Introduction Engineer will work with the Technical Program Manager and the customer to verify and validate that the product being developed for the customer meets the customers requirements. In addition the New Product Introduction Engineer will develop the work instructions and process checklists necessary to assemble the product, the test procedures necessary to validate the product, and any necessary fixtures, tools, or test jigs that may be needed for the assembly and test process. The New Product Introduction Engineer will also work with the Systems/Operations Engineer to troubleshoot problems with production and take corrective action.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Drive production development efforts for new customer products. Analysis and development of mfg functions, capacities, and facilities needed for the production of the customers product.
  • Set up ERP part number structures, routings, and BOMs for new products.
  • Works with Systems-Operations Engineer to design and structure the manufacturing work flows for new products.
  • Assist in resolving design and supplier issues.
  • Responsible for creation and update of related documentation (test procedures, assembly instructions, specifications, checklists, etc.)
  • Assist key personnel, project lead engineers, and/or Operations management in determination of work scope, tasks, schedules, and budgets.
  • This challenging position has a great deal of interaction with technical staff.
  • Drive regulatory/environmental certifications as required.
  • Train manufacturing staff on assembly and test.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent documentation, communication, and technical writing skills required.
  • Strong experience in development of processes for light manufacturing; specifically computer servers and embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with computer based engineering methods and computer tools.
  • Ability to work well with others - teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity, and excellent communication.
  • Ability to logically document and solve problems and to keep projects moving.
  • Must be a self-motivated, organized and strong communicator.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality improvement methods.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Experience/Education Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in ME/EE/Mfg or other related Science/Engineering field.
  • 3 years minimum experience in production/manufacturing/sustaining engineering environment.
