Network Allies and Bittware Collaborate on Application-Ready Financial Platforms

Network Allies, a leading provider of application-specific computing solutions, and BittWare, the leader in Altera-based FPGA COTS boards, have collaborated to deliver IBM and Intel 2U – 4U rackmount servers, based on Intel® Xeon® processors, which are specifically designed for Financial Acceleration and High Frequency Trading (HFT) applications. With high frequency trades being executed in microseconds, the ability to minimize the delay between market data arrival and issuing the trade is critical. These applications require ultra-low latency feed handling as well as ever-faster analysis/data correlation.

BittWare’s ultra-low latency hardware is based on the industry-leading Altera Stratix® V FPGA and provides CPU offload, the highest performance transceivers, and available TOE (TCP/IP Offload Engine) and Financial IP. With maximum processing performance per watt to minimize energy and thermal requirements and 10GigE straight to the FPGA (no conversion to XAUI) for ultra-low latency, BittWare’s PCIe boards are ideal for applications in the financial acceleration/HFT market.

Key features include:
  • Up to two BittWare full- or half-size Stratix® V PCIe boards
  • Up to four Altera Stratix® V FPGAs
  • OpenCL™ Programming Supported
  • Financial Acceleration IP (from BittWare partners)
  • Up to eight 40GigE or thirty-two 10GigE interfaces
  • 2U – 4U rackmount server
  • Up to two 8-core Intel® Xeon® processors
  • Sixteen 2.5” or six 3.5” HDDs or thirty-two 1.8” SSDs
  • Up to 768 GB of memory
  • Microsoft® Windows® or Linux OS

Network Allies and Bittware will be exhibiting IBM and Intel application-ready financial platforms at the Trading Show Chicago on June 24-25, featuring a live demo of Stratix V FPGA-based PCIe Board and Development Tools for OpenCL. The Trading Show Chicago is North America’s leading electronic trading conference and expo, uniting the entire value chain – including HFTs, quants, exchanges, investors, regulators, markets makers and technology providers in one place at one time.
