Shipping & Receiving Associate – North Andover, MA

Summary Descritption

The Shipping and Receiving Associate handles and maintains the flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines. This includes the receipt of daily incoming material, the kitting of material for sales and work orders per the pick list, and the daily shipment of sales orders.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Receives, unpacks, and verifies quantity/part # information for all incoming material, performs inventory transactions within Epicor the same day that material is received.
  • Rejects all damaged incoming shipments, notifies purchasing of any shortages and/or miss-shipments.
  • Stocks all material in the appropriate inventory location, creates labels, and assigns new locations as required.
  • Processes necessary paperwork and picks and audits internal/external sales and work orders, routes material for release throughout the stockroom and production areas.
  • Sorts, cycle counts, and checks raw material.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of stockroom and work area.
  • Prepares daily orders for shipment, ensures product is packaged properly to prevent damage during shipment.
  • Ships finished product using UPS/Fed Ex or other currier means to customers. Provide all shipping paperwork i.e. tracking numbers to enable packing list generation.
  • Follows all receiving, shipping, and control of material procedures for lot routing, lot integrity, and lot traceability are followed.
  • Performs visual inspection of sales orders against pick list and inspection checklists.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions and to check and count accurately.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and from written or verbal instructions.
  • Excellent organizational, judgment, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with the use of PC’s and data entry programs, Epicor preferred
  • Attention to detail, specifically numerical matching, number sequencing, and inventory counts
  • Possess the initiative to maintain stockroom accuracy and efficiency
  • Reaching, bending and ability to pick up 70 lb boxes
  • Knowledge of international shipment rules/regulations preferred.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma, Associates Degree preferred
  • Experience with UPS World Ship / FEDEX and other shipment methods
